Announcing a new event for the Twin Cities Motorcycle Club!

What: Get Ready for Spring! HP Bike Clinic

When: Saturday, April 3, 2010 9:00 AM

Where:
Hitching Post Motorsports
350 17th Ave North
Hopkins, MN 55343

It's that time of the year! Time to start thinking about getting those bikes out and getting them ready for riding!

As they've done for us before, Hitching Post Motorsports in Hopkins will be hosting a bike clinic just for us.
They will go over all the things you should be doing, checking, replacing, etc. before you get your bike back out on the road.

Their staff always does a great job presenting, and answering whatever questions pop up.

Please let us know if you intend on attending the bike clinic, send an email to ciffus@gmail.com.

This year I'm going to alter the route.
We only go as far south as Nelson, then cross the river and take the "nice" way home.

What: THE FLOOD RUN

When: Saturday, April 17, 2010 10:00 AM

Where:
Point Restaurant
Highway 61 & 10
Hastings, MN 55033
(651) 437-3613

RIDER LEVEL: Experienced Beginner and UP
(This should NOT be your first group ride).
There are times when you MUST be able to keep a tight formation.
There are parts of this ride where the curves are very tight.

READ THE TCMC RIDING PRIMER

The whole day is about 190 miles.
We finish in Hastings if you stay until the end.
We stop three Times.
Gas is about 70 miles from start
We will be interacting with thousands of other bikes.

We have breakfast at The Point
They WILL put out a buffet breakfast
Go directly to the back to our private room.

WE LEAVE EXACTLY 10am SHARP!!
We don't actually "DO" the Flood Run.
We "DROP IN" on the Flood run.
My special route.
We avoid much of the congestion while hitting the traditional stops.

We will approach the biggest stops on the "run"
from opposite directions as to avoid the mile long lines.
This year we are dropping "The Eagle's View".
(The Stop AFTER Nelson)

When: Saturday, April 10, 2010 12:00 PM

Where:
DQ Grill & Chill
625 Apollo Dr
Lino Lakes, MN
651-255-2502

First Club Ride of the Year
Rider Level: Experienced Beginner, Whole Ride
If for many reasons, Sunday is a better day, we go Sunday

The online maps for DQ are wrong.
I made the correction on the map above.
It is actually on the corner of 77th and Lake.
Just a block north from McDonalds.

The Ride is about 112 miles.
Lunch is in Marine on St. Croix
BROOKSIDE BAR & GRILL
140 Judd St.
Marine on St. Croix, MN 55047
651-433-5132
This is a DEAD AREA for CELL PHONES!

It's 56 miles to lunch and there is a gas station there.

However, except the extremely small gas tanks,
everyone should be able to go 112 miles.
Also, I have a short version of this ride (81 miles)
if it does get, you know, chilly

If it turns out to be what even I consider chilly,
I have a warm up spot at 40miles.

To those of you who think below 50 is too cold to ride,
How many of you ride snowmobiles?
How cold is that? As long as the road is dry, why not?
Just dress correctly. A snowmobile suit will work.
